The power of Paint!! I am loving the transformation so far happening at my Bergen County client’s home! When I took the Before photo during my first walk through of the home I could envision how different this dining room would look once removed all of the heaviness in the space. The room feels much more open and airy now with just some simple updates.

Many people when shopping for a new home have a hard time seeing past cosmetic choices that the sellers made. It’s important to realize that a room has the opportunity to look so vastly different with minimal effort. That is not to say that it is easy to remove wallpaper (we left that to the professionals). But it should not be a deal breaker when deciding whether or not to purchase a home that you otherwise love.

I have been on the hunt for a vintage runner in my kitchen awhile and am so thrilled with this one!! It adds the warmth that I was wanting and it feels good under my feet too. Vintage rugs are all the rage right now and I think it is a trend that will stay around for awhile. I was searching for something that wasn’t too bold because I think the muted colors coordinate better with the tones of our kitchen. I also wanted to avoid anything red which is a common color in a lot of these vintage runners. I came across this one and love how the colors go with the rest of the space. Now I am searching for a similar runner in the mudroom to compliment this one.

Do you have a large wall that you are unsure how to fill? When I went for a consultation at my client’s home and saw this 10’ wall in her living room, I suggested a large console table to fill the space. This is a practical and beautiful solution because the drawers provide storage for mail and keys, the lamps provide needed light in a room with no overhead lighting and the baskets are a great place to store blankets and scarfs and hats since it is right by the front door.
