Modern Farmhouse Kitchen - Wyckoff NJ interior designer

I’m loving this view in my modern farmhouse kitchen! And the simple greenery from Trader Joe’s (in a vase from Target!) complete the homey feel. We put the kitchen to good use this holiday weekend with a lot of baking. My daughter made ice cream and home-made pizza as well as oatmeal peanut butter cookies!

Living Room in Wyckoff - Interior designer / decorator

I am so excited to share the progress at a living room in Wyckoff that I have been working on. This is one little corner of the room for now while we wait for the art to be hung on the walls which will complete the room. The before and after photos are going to be amazing!!

This room gets a lot of natural light as you can see from the windows (there are two more just out of view). But there are no overhead lights at all so it was important to add in some lamps for lighting in the evening. I love both of these lamps and there is actually a 3rd one (a hanging floor lamp) to complete the space.

But my favorite things I think are this chair and rug! I love how they go together and they really ground the space.

Hide or Show off your TV? NJ interior designer in Wyckoff

To hide the TV or not? What do you prefer?

We have two TV’s in our house and have both of them “hidden”. This TV I had my awesome carpenter build bi-fold barn doors. I love how they coordinate with the built-ins and when they are closed we can enjoy our fireplace and gorgeous reclaimed wood mantle. This type of door is ideal to install when you are doing new construction or an addition since you can plan ahead with the cut out and hide all of your electronics easily within the frame. We have a DVD player and cablebox with remotes inside so they are all hidden behind the doors.

Kitchen with a navy island - Bergen County kitchen designer

Yesterday I checked in on a kitchen project that I’ve been working on in Ramsey. The newly painted navy island looks amazing with the new pendants and stools! I love the combination of the brown stools (with such fun detailing) against the navy. The previous island was wood and when combined with the wood floors and the wood table and chairs it was a lot of brown wood. Painting it navy made such a HUGE difference. And allowed us to bring in the super cool brown stools now that there is a contrast.

I selected the pendants to replace the old ones because I love how open they are and the black coordinates with the legs on the stools.

We are just waiting on one more item to come in for the open shelving that I styled and a new rug for under the kitchen table……then I can post a full reveal!!

Here is the BEFORE photo - my client already had a beautiful new kitchen but needed help with the finishing touches. So I found new lighting (pendants as well as a light fixture over the table). island stools, shelf styling, a wall clock, new fabric for seat cushions and banquette, rug for under the table. and new island color.
