When I have shared photos of this kitchen on Instagram, there have been lots of comments calling it their "dream kitchen" and I have to agree that it really is! BUT it certainly didn't look like this when we first walked into the house for the first time.
Here is the "after". Scroll down for the "before" and how we did it!
Introduction to me :) Christie Adams Design
I am not used to being in front of the camera and I much prefer being behind the lens! But I knew that I needed to have a nice head-shot so I bit the bullet and had my dear friend Emily Wilson come over to my favorite space for our photo shoot.
So this is one of my favorite shots from our photo shoot :) And it's a great way for me to introduce myself. I am Christie Adams and I created my interior design business after finishing my third fixer upper renovation. Now I am excited to work with homeowners and well as real estate developers and house flippers in Bergen County. I love seeing the potential of older homes, I get excited about 1970's wallpaper, shag carpet and wood-paneling on the wall. I love taking a dark and dated home and making it light and airy and functional for today's modern family. So many times, friends will come into my house and say that it looks like Joanna Gaines has been here which is such a fun compliment for me to receive. Random fact: I named our cat Jojo after loving the first season of Fixer Upper!
I am looking forward to 2018 and upcoming home renovation projects to share on my blog with you! If you are in the Bergen County area and would like to talk about your interior design needs, I'd love to hear from you. If you are a home-owner who isn't sure what to do with your dated kitchen, that is my favorite project to tackle. Or even if you just need help with accessories, paint colors or new furniture layout for your living space, reach out! I would love the opportunity to be your interior designer!
Bergen County interior designer- Kitchen Lighting
I love visiting the Currey & Co showroom in New York City! Look at all of the beautiful eye candy they have there:
I knew as soon as I saw it that their Broxton Orb Chandelier would be perfect for the kitchen. It has just the right amount of glass, and the antiqued black and gold is an amazing color. I think it gives off such a warm glow when it is turned on but I actually prefer it when it's turned off because you notice the pretty color more. It has just the right amount of modern appeal, but it is not trendy so it will be enjoyed for many years to come!
And here she is on display in the kitchen- the tray ceiling was the perfect way to showcase this work of art!
