Glen Rock Kitchen update - kitchen designer

Everything seems to be taking FOREVER right now but it is always worth the wait. And this Glen Rock kitchen transformation is no exception. We started working on the new design of this kitchen last fall and as you can see it was a complete overall / gut renovation. Here is a side by side of the before and progress photo of the same angle:

Shelf Styling Tips - NJ interior designer

Built ins are so much fun to style but can definitely be overwhelming. My own built ins in my family room are in a constant state of change as I move things around and buy new things. It’s fun for me to play :)

Here are a couple of tips if you are going to update your shelves:

1. Start by taking everything off the shelves

2. Put the big items on the shelves first and make sure you have items that are various different heights and shapes

3. Use greenery (whether it’s real or faux)

4. Add in books

I am a big fan of shelf styling over here! It’s a great way to add in your personality and really make a house a home. In my built ins in my family room, I have a collection of framed photographs mixed with some books and vases. The wooden Anthropologie bowl on the middle shelf is the latest addition to my shelves. As soon as I spotted it I knew that it would pair perfectly with the color of my shelves.
