Have you recently bought a new build home in Northern NJ? Or are you embarking on a renovation on your home? Maybe you’ve lived in it for awhile or maybe you bought a fixer upper home knowing that you’d be renovating.
It’s so important to think of the big picture when doing work on an entire home because you want everything to be cohesive and flow seamlessly. The last thing you want is for the space to feel disjointed or like one room doesn’t really go with the other rooms. This is where an interior designer is key.
I love to get started when clients have their architect plans if doing an addition / renovation so that I can have a look over everything and see if there are any red flags that can be addressed before construction starts. If you bought a new construction home then I’d like to be brought in ASAP. Before it is painted or even before finishes are selected if possible.
I will be able to look at your layout and visualize how your home will look when it is complete. I can then work on the design picking out light fixtures, paint colors, rugs, art and furniture that all flows perfectly together. There are SO many options and decisions, it can be overwhelming, Everything from door handles, trim and molding details, grout color, floor stain and the list goes on and on.
Here is a recent whole house renovation project in Bergen County NJ. The first time I met with the clients we did a walk through of their under construction home. The addition was dug out and the remaining house was demoed. I had a copy of their architect plans and then got to work on the design.
The kitchen opens up to this beautiful dining room which over looks the deck and backyard.
Here is a Before/After photo of the dining room. The before is a photo that I took during one of my walk-through visits during construction.
And here is a view from the kitchen - I love how the light fixtures compliment each other.
Next up is the powder room next to the kitchen - we selected a fun tile since it is a small space and it’s one of my favorite rooms in their house!
Going upstairs I designed 3 bedrooms. Here is the master bedroom:
The gorgeous and functional master bath!
The sweet baby boy nursery!
Love the soft rug!!!
And here is their daughter’s room:
Obsessed with the wallpaper
Love this print!!
