Nantucket Summer Vacation - itinerary with kids / teens

I’ve been intrigued about the island of Nantucket for awhile now thanks to reading a lot of Elin Hilderbrand novels through the years. About 10 months ago, we decided to look into it as a possible summer destination and were surprised to find that most accommodations were already booked. So we quickly grabbed a great rental that worked for our dates and then looked forward to this trip all year. Nantucket didn’t disappoint!

The downtown is so charming with its cobblestone streets and the amazing flowers everywhere. It was so quaint to see so many people riding bikes and strolling - no need for a car while downtown. In fact, we did not have a car at all during our vacation and it was great! We rented bikes, walked and used the Wave shuttle bus to explore the island. I feel like at the end of 5 days, we saw almost all of the 48 square mile island.

Our rental house was perfectly located for us to walk downtown and it was also right by a bus stop. We enjoyed using the Wave shuttle bus to get all over the island.

Sunset at Madaket Beach was beautiful and we were surprised to find that the beach wasn’t very crowded at all. We got there about 45 minutes before the sun set and there were only a handful of people on the beach. A few more people showed up right before sunset but it never got close to being crowded. Millies is a quick walk to the beach and right by the Wave shuttle bus stop.

Our itinerary basically involved picking a different beach each day combined with a walk downtown and exploring a neighborhood. In addition to our sunset stop at Madaket Beach, we also visited Jettie’s Beach, Surfside Beach and Cisco Beach. One evening we took the Wave bus out to Sconset and enjoyed the Sconset Bluff Walk.

We passed this marina on our daily walk / bike ride into town.

Ramsey Bathroom transformation with green tiles

I just love this green tile so much!! I’m so happy that my client said yes to doing a bold tile around the shower/bath tub and it came out even better than I imagined. It pairs so nicely with the brushed nickel finish of the fixtures.

Here is where we started with the space- as you can see, there was white tile on the floor and wall along with a white vanity. Adding some color was definitely our goal in this transformation!

The floor tile is now a really pretty porcelain tile that looks like marble- it is timeless and really allows the green tile to be the star.

We incorporated a wood vanity which brings in some warmth to the space. It was also fun to mix metals with the black hardware on the vanity and the nickel faucet and sconce.

Decorating a Console Table - Shop the Look

I am so excited to share this recently completed family room update. This space has a lot of personality and is so light and bright. I love that my clients are not afraid of color and they fell in love with this artwork that is perfect for over the console table. We kept the rest of the decor simple so as not to take away from the beautiful piece of art.

Do you want to snag any of the items that we used in this transformation? I have a round-up of the pieces and similar items.

Happy Shopping!

On the other side of this room, we also decorated the built-ins (and selected a new rug and ottoman!)

Check out where we started with this space - I especially love the new denim ottoman. I saw it in the store and knew that it would be perfect with the new rug!

Wyckoff NJ Interior Designer

I loved transforming this living room / dining room space for my clients in Wyckoff. When they purchased their new home, they did not have any furniture purchased for either of these rooms. So it was a total blank slate project for me which is always my favorite!

In the living room, I am so happy with how everything came together - notice how the legs of the coffee table coordinate with the floor lamp base? How fun is that?!

It’s all in the details - I love selecting all of the accessories needed to finish a space.

The mantle is a focal point in the space and I love how the mirror how rounded corners contrast with the trim work.

I am in my happy place whenever I am decorating :)

Did you catch a glimpse of the dining room in the shots of the living room above? It is quite the stunner!

Here is a close up shot of the incredible artwork - it is SO unique!

Here are a couple of before/after photos of both rooms. I took the “Before” photos when I first met my clients last year.
