I am loving the progress photos that my clients email me! This is a hallway project that I’ve been working on where we incorporated new vintage runner rugs and light fixtures to this 100+ year old home in Chatham NJ. I love the architectural details in older homes- look at the front door and the windows above it!! And the arched built-in nook in the hallway. Oh and the millwork on the door trim. So gorgeous!!!

NJ interior designer decorator

I loved getting an email update photo from my Chatham client. We are working on transforming her beautiful living room and I am loving how it is turning out! This is a long space so it requires two separate seating areas but they also need to coordinate with each other. I selected a muted vintage style rug for the main section of the space which pairs well with the cream sofa and dark side chairs. Then for the back conversation area I selected a natural jute rug to add some warmth to the space but does not compete with the vintage pattern rug that it is so close to. It would be too busy to have two patterned rugs so close together so the jute rug was a great option. This rug also has a wool band on the top and bottom as a pretty border.

Ridgewood NJ interior designer

Go big or go home!! This 30” x 40’” framed artwork steals this show in my client’s master bedroom! If you have a large wall to fill, don’t be afraid to choose a large piece for BIG impact! A good idea is to tape out the piece you are thinking about on the wall so that you can visualize it before you purchase it. Sometimes the dimensions can sound scary when you see them but if you tape out the dimensions, you will be able to see what the end result will be. And suddenly that “scary sounding size” makes perfect sense!
